Mental Health

Positive mental health is a vital component of over-all health and is relevant to the entire population.  The last census showed that over 120,000 people in Ireland are living with a psychological or emotional condition. This emphasises the importance of services taking care of those struggling with mental health challenges at any stage of life.

St John of God Community Services has supported over 25,000 people including children, adolescents and adults with mental health care needs in the past three years alone.

Our specialist clinics and community based services are dedicated to providing free specialist care to children, adolescents and adults in the Dublin area experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties. The fact that 75% of mental health issues begin before the age of 24 underpins the importance of help being available from an early age and throughout life.  Programmes offered are broad and range from Acute Care to a wide variety of therapies to suit many different needs.

Despite being part funded by the HSE, demand for services continues to outweigh capacity. Your donations will help to ensure that nobody faces these challenges alone.
