Welcome to our Autumn Newsletter 2021 Dear friends and supporters I don’t want you to miss your Open Hearts, your St. John of God Foundation newsletter! Your kindness and generosity are so important to us, and I want you to see all the good you’re doing. We’re eager to have your thoughts! But if you missed it, please don’t worry. Because you’re so important to us, I’ve attached an online version for you as well. You can click through to read it right here. It’s amazing what nature can teach us, isn’t it? Inside, you’ll see how the children we support are learning and growing outdoors. The sense of wonder we see in their eyes fills my heart, and I’m sure it will lift yours as well. And you’ll read about a wonderful man called Jamie. Jamie is also happiest outdoors, taking part in social farming programme – supported by the generosity of people like you – means he can spend two days a week on a farm. You won’t want to miss his lovely story. Most of all, I don’t want you to miss our important message: you are a treasure! And your love is felt, from the smallest child to our adults. Every one of them needs our care – and that care is only possible because of you. Thank you for your love and caring! John FlemingChief ExecutiveSaint John of God Foundation P.S. If you haven’t been receiving your newsletter by post and wish to do so, please let us know. We’d be happy to send you a copy. And if you were thinking about sending a gift today, you can follow this link and safely give online. Your gift – of any amount – will be gratefully received by all of us here. You are at the heart of our work! P.P.S. In case you hadn’t heard, we’ve just received great news! We’ve just learned that we can suspend the transfer of the Intellectual Disability and Community Mental Health Services we provide to the HSE. The HSE will ensure we have enough funding to continue our work. Then with the HSE, we will develop a funding model for the future. We take your trust in us seriously. And we depend on you to continue our support of the people we serve. Thank you!
