To lessen the disruption of Covid-19 at our Islandbridge Special School, we are providing pupils, their parents & guardians with a range of virtual classes accessible in their own homes. This is a difficult time for our 88 pupils, but technology helps to make it easier.

The closure of our school has not stopped progress; our virtual music, mindfulness and exercise classes give pupils and their families a sense of continuity & community during this unsettling time.

St.John of God Community Services Adapts to Change

Many other St. John of God Community services, active in supporting people with intellectual disabilities are also using assistive technology. Thousands of people throughout Ireland can continue to grow and learn despite the temporary closure of our physical locations.

Assistive technology makes the change to virtual programmes and classrooms so much easier for pupils and their families.
